Our names are Larry and Susan Buck. We began administrating
medical missions for the ministry, ?Bread for a Hungry World,? in
the Philippines over 10 years ago. Because of that association, we
were able to develop a network of Asian physicians within the
Christian community in the Pacific Rim. These faithful warriors
have joined Susan and me as we responded to disasters in Sri
Lanka, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Burma, China, and all over the
Philippine Islands.
Because of the proximity of the Philippines to many of these
disaster areas, we are able to take first class Christian medical
teams, along with supplies, into areas at a fraction of the cost
of other disaster relief agencies. All physicians, dentists,
pharmacists, counselors and therapists volunteer their time.
Likewise, all of the staff at EOE donates their time. All travel
cost are underwritten outside of the disaster relief budgets. This
means that 100% of the funds donated to EOE disaster relief
projects go directly to benefit those in need. Typical non-profit
relief efforts require as much as 40% of their budgets just to
operate. It is our goal to keep our relief funding at 100% to the
projects.
